ABOUT US
CityWorks is dedicated to local missions and urban outreach within the city of Boston. We strive to foster a culture of service in the Park Street Church community by educating, equipping and mobilizing servant leaders to reach out to underserved communities within the city of Boston.
CityWorks is also committed to supporting—through prayer, finances and active involvement—local urban ministries that proclaim and practice the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Such partner ministries include Boston Rescue Mission, Emmanuel Gospel Center, the Higher Education Resource Center, Partakers and Starlight Ministries.
CityWorks grew out of the desire of Park Street members to mobilize volunteers for urban ministry. In 1992, we launched an urban tutoring program and formed additional volunteer partnerships soon thereafter. In 1998, the CityWorks name was given to a missions subcommittee appointed to support already-existing partnerships and other grassroots urban ministries in Boston that have relationships with Park Street. CityWorks continues to organize and provide prayer support, volunteers and networking to these ministries.

Park Street Church’s presence in the heart of Boston’s urban downtown gives our church body many opportunities to demonstrate God’s heart for the city and to join him in his work by extending Christ’s love to our neighbors.
Our leadership team is acutely aware of various needs of local organizations and is eager to match their needs with the interests of individuals and small groups. From serving meals to mentoring to discipleship, join other Park Streeters in a one-time project, or commit to serving on a regular basis. Join a service-based small group that serves on the Boston Common, mentors urban youth or does prison ministry. Use your professional skills or try something new—opportunities abound in a variety of fields. There is also the opportunity to join the CityWorks team and help organize projects.
