I Want My MTV!
CrossWalk May Forum
Wednesday, May 14, 7pm
Park Street Church Jones Chapel

TV, websites, radio, print, blogs, podcasts, and on and on. We’ve got countless opportunities to take in media and a God who’s given us freedom of choice.

But figuring out what content is helping you vs. hurting you is like dancing through a minefield. So, how do you assess what’s got your eyes and ears? And how can you disconnect from something that’s got you hooked?

Join us for CrossWalk’s May Forum as John David Punch presents “Dancing with the Media: Avoiding Your Personal Landmines!” As Park Street’s Minister to Youth, John David is well versed in the media trappings his teens face 24/7 (you know, the same ones us 30-somethings try to make “adult” decisions about 24/7). John David is a 30-something, too; he knows our challenge, and he wants to share God’s guidance in this area. Come and learn how to spot your landmines and improve your dance with the media!

John David (J.D.) Punch, a native of Birmingham, Alabama, graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alabama in 1997. He also holds masters degrees from Birmingham Theological Seminary and the University of Pretoria in South Africa, and is now a PhD candidate studying New Testament Theology at the University of Pretoria.

J.D. has served in the ministry for nearly nine years after two years as a design engineer. He is currently Minister to Youth at Park Street Church and is married to Amy Downing of Pineville, Louisiana.  They have three children: Jake, Tyler and Emma.

We’re Seeing the Sox!
Red Sox vs. Kansas City Royals
Tuesday, May 20, 7:05pm
(Get your tickets at our May 14 Forum listed above!)

The Red Sox keep setting records for sold-out games. But CrossWalk has $26 tickets for a great night at Fenway Park on Tuesday, May 20th.

You can buy your ticket vouchers at our Wednesday, May 14th CrossWalk Forum with cash or check made out to Park Street Church. (We’ll be exchanging your vouchers for tickets outside of the Gate A Will-Call Area at Fenway Park from 5:30-7pm the night of the game.)

Our annual Red Sox excursion always sells out. Get seats for you and your friends!

Email Amanda with any questions.

CrossWalk Tutoring!

Feel like lending a little time and help to some great kids? Boston Project Ministries teens and Boston Trinity Academy students need our help with their homework. CrossWalkers tutor on Tuesdays, 7-8:30pm at Boston Project Ministries. And, if afternoons are better for you, Boston Trinity Academy needs tutors on Mondays and Wednesdays, 3-4pm or 4-5pm.

Email CrossWalker Matt Crane to be a part of this great initiative!
