[ABOUT THE INSTITUTE]

As G.K. Chesteron once remarked, “Christianity has not been tried and found wanting; it has been found difficult and not tried.” This is so true when it comes to prayer. We make new year’s resolutions to pray more, pray better, perhaps to pray at all. What will make this year different?

During the seven weeks of Lent, we invite you to join others in the Lenten Discipleship Institute. This new initiative tackles the challenges of becoming, being, and making disciples. This year’s focus will be on knowing God through prayer. The Sunday night worship service will be connected with a post-service gathering in order to create a coherent and comprehensive exercise in spiritual growth. The goal is to help participants become more deeply convicted by their knowledge of God’s attributes, more capable in various practices of prayer, and more connected with other disciples in mentored learning groups.

[DETAILS]

Meeting time: Sundays, 4–7:30pm. Participants should commit to attending at least five of the seven sessions.

Cost: $20 to defray the costs of the materials and dinner.

Childcare: Childcare (ages 0-3) and a children’s program (ages 3-11) will be provided, $15 per child or $25 per family.
