ABOUT US
Alpha is a ten-week opportunity to explore the Christian faith. It introduces the basics of Christianity for those wishing to know and understand what Christians believe. We meet weekly for a meal, a short video and small group time that offers lots of opportunity for informal, friendly and non-pressured discussion.

Dinner and Discussion
Each week the Alpha course begins with dinner followed by a video covering topics such as “Who is Jesus?”, “Why did Jesus die?”, “How can I be sure of my faith?” and “Does God still heal today?”. Later, we divide into small groups and enjoy lively and thought-provoking discussion over cookies and coffee. There is no charge for the Alpha course, although a small contribution might be requested for the evening meal.

Weekend Retreat
A key part of the Alpha experience is a weekend retreat offered midway through the course. It is a wonderful opportunity for fellowship and learning. A modest fee covers food and accommodations during this special weekend, and scholarships are available for those with financial hardship.

A Rich History
Alpha originated over twenty years ago at Holy Trinity Brompton, an Anglican church in London, England. The syllabus of the course is contained in the book, Questions of Life, by Rev. Nicky Gumbel. Today, churches of every denomination support Alpha. In fact, over 5,000 Alpha courses are currently offered in the US in addition to thousands around the world. More than a million North Americans have already participated.
