Film
Park Street Church commissioned this lively 29-minute film on the occasion of its 200th anniversary. Taking thematic cues from Garth Rosell’s newly released book, Boston’s Historic Park Street Church: The Story of an Evangelical Landmark, producer Chris Gilbert captures the enduring essence of the institution.
The story of the church is examined from the inside and outside. Varied commentary is provided from ministers, missionaries, laypeople, historians, Bostonians, and those whose lives have been changed after coming into contact with the church. Enjoy never-before-seen footage from the 1950 Billy Graham Crusade on the Boston Common, and get a sneak peek into insiders’ surmises about the future of the church.
In a rapidly changing culture, most institutions don’t embody their founding principles for 200 years. Park Street Church is an exception. Discover the key to Park Street’s life, and to how it continues to impact lives all over the world from its original outpost in downtown Boston.
The film is scored with original music by Park Street member Ruth Shyu. It is available at the church for a suggested donation. Contact Linda Yee with questions about ordering.
