February Senior Minister Search Committee Report

Written by the Board of Elders Prayer Team: Jim Feenstra, Nora Laver, Heather Lewis and David Rix.

Senior Minister Search Committee members are: Herman Smith (chair), Diana Bennett, Simon Chang, Rebecca Heidgerd, John Liu, Tom Miller, David Murgatroyd, Martha Neu, Alex Pless, Dan Vogelzang, and Brian Winey.

As members of the body of Christ we encourage the entire congregation to hold this committee in daily prayer as they diligently work to select a candidate to be our next senior pastor.

  • For the health and strength of the search committee members, allowing their diligent work to continue.
  • For effective communication, genuine friendship and Christian fellowship to remain at the foundation of the committee.
  • For wisdom, diligence and love for our ministers and church staff during this year of transition.
  • For the congregation to remain faithful by reading the Bible, praying with other believers for the search committee in small groups, and practicing hospitality by sharing meals with others, so that His Kingdom would be glorified in our lives.
  • For God’s clear call to our next senior pastor, so that the name of the Lord and the Gospel of Jesus Christ will be preached from Park Street Church for generations to come.

Verses for the month:

  • Let love and faithfulness never leave you;  bind them around your neck,  write them on the tablet of your heart.  Proverbs 3:3
  • Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.  Jeremiah 29:7
  • May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, 6 so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Romans 15:5
