Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary is looking for a part-time (20 hours per week) Administrative Assistant to the Dean for the campus in Roxbury. Please email your resume to [email protected]

Job Description:

Under the broad supervision of the Campus Dean, provides a full range of administrative and secretarial services to assist the Dean in accomplishing the goals and objectives of the Dean's Office, and the mission of the Campus in general. This is a ½-time position.

Required Capabilities:
The incumbent must possess:

• Soundly developed administrative, secretarial and clerical skills, including organizational and coordination skills.
• Excellent skills in researching and reporting; writing and editing; and communicating in general.
• Broad awareness of the range and content of Campus Dean's responsibilities and duties, along with the clear recognition and significance of confidentiality in the activities of the Dean's Office.
• Ability to interact professionally and graciously with faculty, staff, students, board, and all the external relations of the Campus.
• Clear understanding of the mission of the Boston Campus and the willingness to abide by the Community Life Statement of GCTS.
• Skills to use MS Office and aptitude to learn to use other softwares as needed.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required and preferably a 2 years of experience as administrative assistant.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Communicates and coordinates on all aspects (e.g., calls, mails, emails, supporting documents, reservations, expenses, hospitality, etc.) of Dean's public functions (e.g., meetings, appointments, recruitments, travels, speech engagements, teachings, events, etc.). Will often serve as the recorder of the minutes in meetings. (25%)
2. Maintains faculty records for the Dean and processes faculty teaching stipends. (20%)
3. Gathers data, writes, edits, transcribes, types, and organizes to assist the Dean in the production, publication and curation of documents and speeches of varied nature - administrative, public, legal, pastoral or academic. (45%)
4. Performs other duties as necessary. (10%)
