Christian Formation Series: Faithfulness in a Time of Political Upheaval

Five–week series Sundays in October | 9:45 AM & 5:30 PM

How does theology inform our faithful engagement of politics? With increasing politicization and social divisions, Christians find themselves in need of understanding the role of theology and the church in expressing a faithful political presence. This seminar series aims to highlight key features of a Christian theology that informs Christian faithfulness in a time of political upheaval. This series does not endorse any candidates or political parties, but aims to help Christians think theologically. Guest speakers include Vincent Bacote (Wheaton), James Hunter (University of Virginia), and Amy Black (Wheaton). Click below to watch a video of Mark Booker and Michael Balboni discuss this series, which will run throughout Sundays in October. For more information, and to register, follow the links below. All those who are interested, including the international members of our congregation, are encouraged to attend regardless of registration. Though we do encourage you to register as only registrants will receive seminar materials.

Small Group Regional Onboarding Dinners

To create a clear pathway for people in our community to join a small group, there will be dinners in each of the Regional Fellowships this fall. Representatives from multiple small groups in your region will be at the dinner so that those looking for a small group can find one.

We would love for everyone to be connected in relationships at Park Street Church. If you’d like to join a small group this year, please consider attending one of these dinners. To RSVP, follow the link below.

Disability and the Practice of Christian Community

SUN, OCT 23 | 12:30 PM | Welcome Center

As we encounter people with disabilities, how do Christians move from attitudes of mere inclusion to deeper practices of belonging? How can embracing relationships with the disability community teach the church about God’s nature and purposes?

Join us for lunch, prayer and discussion for this kickoff event hosted by Enable Boston. Dr. Sarah Barton (Assistant Professor and occupational therapist at Duke University) and author of Becoming the Baptized Body: Disability & the Practice of Christian Community will join us.

Lunch is provided and RSVP is required (see button below).

We would also love for you to join Enable Boston on an ongoing basis as we provide volunteers for children and adults with disabilities and their families as part of our ministry at Park Street Church, supporting their spiritual development and participation in church life activities. Individualized training is provided.

Questions? Contact Leslie Bodkin, Director of Enable Boston.
