    May 5 - 7

Join us May 5-7 for a wonderful weekend away at the Newagen Inn in Southport, Maine. The weekend is a great opportunity for you and your spouse to get away among friends and relax and refresh! Our small group times will be based on our retreat theme, “Humble and Kind.” These two words embody Jesus’ statement, “I have come not to be served, but to serve.” Jesus bids us to follow his example in each and every relationship. The fruits of humility and kindness in a marriage are immeasurable. During our weekend together we will talk about the nature and source of humility and kindness, the obstacles which impede our expression of humility and kindness towards our spouses, and the practical means by which we can manifest humility and kindness within our marriage. The Newagen Inn offers outstanding accommodations in a stunning location on the water's edge in the island community of Southport. We have room for only 35 couples, so register soon! $320 per couple. Cost includes two breakfasts and two lunches along with a gift upon arrival. Saturday night is a date night for you and your spouse to enjoy dinner at an area restaurant (this is an additional expense). Childcare is available for children 3 and under for additional $55 per child.

Handmade items will also available for purchase, including cards, Ethiopian scarves, hope mugs, and more. Proceeds will support the mission of HFOS and the women they serve. We hope you can join us! Woman to Woman Book Club

    May 31

Introducing the Woman to Woman Book Club, another way for women to create space to share their journeys. Please come even if you don’t have time to finish the book. The chapters are somewhat self contained, so you will still have something to offer.

Join us to discuss Shauna Niequist’s latest book, Present Over Perfect. Do you feel busy, but not connected? Do you feel exhausted, but that your time isn’t spent meaningfully? Shauna offers an honest account of what led her to begin the journey to find life giving answers, and a compelling vision for an entirely new way to live: soaked in grace, rest, silence, simplicity, prayer, and connection with the people that matter most to us.

RSVP to Margaret Sloat. Find the book here

We look forward to seeing you at Margaret’s house!
