Everyone is welcome!
Tens of thousands of international scholars come to Boston every year to study and work at its universities, hospitals and research institutions. Park Street Church, located in the heart of the city, is pleased to offer an English Language Program through its FOCUS program.
We offer three sections of English classes: Conversational English, Academic English and TOEFL iBT (internet-based TOEFL). All classes are taught by caring volunteer teachers from Park Street Church and held inside the church campus at One Park Street, just across the street from Park Street subway station. Most classes have fewer than 10 students and maximum class size is 15.
Registration is required before the beginning of each session for each English Language Class. If you are a new student, please bring your passport to registration. You will be given a placement test to determine which level is best for you.
- Conversational English as a second language classes are for anyone seeking to improve their English skills and are broken down into eight ability levels. Students are placed into a class level according to their current English fluency. We offer daytime classes, which meet twice a week, and evening classes, which meet once a week. You may register for both day and evening classes.
Daytime classes meet: Tuesdays & Thursdays 9:30-11:30 AM, cost is $120 (including textbooks); childcare is available for ages 2 to 4. $5 per child, per day.
Evening classes meet: Fridays, 7:00-8:30 PM; cost is $100 (including textbooks); please ask about childcare availability.
