God instituted the family to help us understand the intimate relationships that exists between our heavenly Father and his children, and among us as brothers and sisters in Christ. We desire to be a church that strengthens and actively supports our families. By doing so, we honor God, uphold his creative order, and understand more deeply his love for his people.

Worshipping Together

What practice in our lives do we most want our children to imitate than our worship of God?

Far from a distraction, the presence of children in our corporate gatherings adds authenticity to our  worship, and so we encourage children from age 3 years old and up to be present in the sanctuary for at least the beginning of our services. Children ages 3–6 to six may remain in the sanctuary for the entire service or are invited to attend our kid-friendly Children’s Church services that mirror elements of the sanctuary service.

    Journey to Bethlehem

    Families & Children

    December 15

    Details

Journey to Bethlehem is a Christmas immersion experience in which families in groups of 15–20 are guided through a re-enactment of the biblical narrative of the birth of Jesus. The evening will run from 6 pm to 9:30 pm on Friday December 15.

Visit Mary and Joseph in Nazareth as they receive the news of the miraculous conception of their son, baby Jesus. Travel to Bethlehem and work with Mary and Joseph to find housing so that you can participate in the census ordered by Caesar Augustus. Enter into Herod’s palace and overhear the Magi’s effort to thwart the evil plans of this despot ruler. Spend time in the fields with the shepherds and hear the proclamation of good news made by the angels that a savior has been born. And finally, visit the manger to see Baby Jesus.

Journey to Bethlehem will take about 1 1/4 hour to complete. There is no cost for this event, though the opportunity to make a donation to help reduce expenses will be available at the end of your journey. You must register for this event. Limited space for 180 travelers is available. This is a great event to invite your friends and neighbors to!

We need actors and volunteers! To act or help out behind the scenes, email Adam Herndon.

    • Starts: December 15, 2017 / 6:00PM
