About Park Street

“We hereby covenant and engage ... to give up ourselves unto the Lord ... to unite together into one body for the public worship of God, and the mutual edification one of another in the fellowship of the Lord Jesus: exhorting, reproving, comforting and watching over each other, for mutual edification; looking for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing of ... our Savior Jesus ...” (from the Articles of Faith and Government, adopted on Feb. 23, 1809)

We Are

As a body of believers, we uphold the centrality and exclusivity of the gospel. We believe that Jesus Christ, who is God incarnate, is the only way of salvation and that the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God. Evangelicalism is often characterized by three distinctives: a concern to do greater justice to the social implications of the Gospel, an avoidance of extra-Biblical lists of do’s and don’ts and anti-intellectualism, and a desire to unite with other Christians with whom we agree concerning the major Christian doctrines.

We believe Christ has vested the authority of his church in the members of the local congregation, especially as they are represented in a local body of elders whom they appoint. Our goals are to: live our daily lives in the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ and joyfully follow him; equip each believer in our community to share the gospel with family, friends and neighbors; reach out to our community with tutoring, job training, medical advocacy and food; and love, pray for and fully support our missionaries.

As one of the intellectual and educational centers of the world, Boston is blessed to welcome tens of thousands of international scholars each year to its colleges, universities, hospitals and research institutions.

Over 60 countries are currently represented at Park Street. The Ministry to Internationals promotes the diverse and cosmopolitan character of our church, in order that we might increasingly become a "house of prayer for all nations".
