2023 Annual Meeting
WED, FEB 15 | 7:00–9:00 PM | Park Street Church
Please mark your calendars for this year’s Annual Meeting (which will take place a week earlier than usual due to Ash Wednesday and public school vacation week). For more information about the meeting, candidate bios and childcare details, please click here.
Membership Reaffirmation
Membership reaffirmation, intended to be completed annually, is important because it serves as a meaningful reminder of the commitments we have made to one another before the Lord, and because it helps us—amid the dynamic and ever-changing context of Boston—to keep our membership roll up to date. Knowing who are active members is critical for understanding our shepherding needs and relevant for decision-making in many areas. We are asking all members to reaffirm or update their membership status this month via the survey linked below.
Members were sent a letter from Mark Booker about reaffirmation via email earlier today. If you are a member and didn’t receive that email, you can read Mark’s letter here.
Members can fill out the survey here.
Questions about the Budget?
SUN, JAN 29 | after all services | Front of Sanctuary
The Church’s Treasurers, or PSC Church Administrator, Mike Ahearn, will be available at the front of the Sanctuary after the services each Sunday prior to February 15th to answer any questions about the proposed annual budgets which can be viewed at parkstreet.org/annualmeeting. You may also email [email protected] with a budget question if that is easier for you.
"Scientists and the Church": ASA Winter Symposium
SAT, JAN 28| 1:00 PM | Online
The American Scientific Affiliation (ASA) will host its third annual Winter Symposium featuring Walter Kim (President of National Association of Evangelicals and former PSC Minister) and Jessica Moerman (VP of Science and Policy Evangelical Environmental Network).
Genetic Engineering. Climate Change. Artificial Intelligence. Vaccines. Any one of these contemporary topics involves science and scientists. Many of these scientists are faithful members of our congregations. How do these church members experience discussions within their faith communities when nonscientists attempt to understand these issues from their faith perspective? And how can churches better engage Christians who are scientists in serving the church?
All-Church Prayer
FRI, FEB 3 | 7:30–9:00 PM | Park Street Church: 5th Floor Sky Room
We’re excited to share that this year, All-Church Prayer will embark on a “prayer tour” of the whole church! On the first Fridays of the month, we will call upon God for his power, guidance, and blessing upon one major area of the church: from small groups and regional fellowships, to young adults, and Family Ministries. Our next Friday is in February, when we will pray for all of the elders and the standing committees of the church. Please join us!

Jesus, Asia and Boston: Christian Formation Class
SUN, JAN 22, 29 & FEB 5 | after all services | Granary Room (after 11:00 AM), Fellowship Hall (After 8:00 AM & 4:00 PM)
Explore the untapped roots from the early church in Asia that can refresh our spiritual life today in Boston.
Where do you look to find spiritual refreshment today? Join us for an informal, interactive, 3-week exploration of some untapped roots from Asian believers in the early church, after each service. We’ll dig into how Asian Christians viewed prayer, the word and mission, consider implications for our lives in Boston, and hopefully refresh our vision for the church’s engagement today in society. Registration is not required.
New Testament Palestinian Names: Christian Formation Class
SUN, FEB 19 | after all services | Welcome Center
Data Science Perspective on New Testament Palestinian Names – New Affirmation, New Insights
A database of several thousand names of Palestinian Jewish men and women around the time of Jesus was recently published, allowing New Testament scholars to compare New Testament data against this database. Their findings affirm the historical accuracy of the Gospels and Acts, statistically speaking. Such study of names also enable us to know more about some New Testament characters including Cleopas, Joanna, Paul, Thomas, Jesus’ family, and others. Dr. David Tam will be presenting a lecture on this new affirmation and insight SUN, FEB 19, after all three services. Dr. Tam, a former Gordon College Bible professor, studied New Testament and Judaism at Duke University after receiving the M. Div. degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
Please register here.
Stories of the Kingdom - Revisited
Stories of the Kingdom – Revisited
If you missed the stories in the Welcome Center during the Global Missions Conference, you’ll be able to find them in the Ockenga Lobby the next few months. We hope that you can take a little time to get to know our missionaries and members and how God is using them to plant the seeds of His Kingdom both here in Boston and around the world.
