Small Groups

Park Street small groups are Christ-centered communities of three to thirteen people who meet together regularly in order to grow in grace and wisdom, hear God’s word and put it into practice, spur one another on toward love and good deeds, and pray for each other faithfully.

In Life Together, his classic exploration of faith in community, German theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer, wrote, “A Christian fellowship lives and exists by the intercession of its members for one another, or it collapses. I can no longer condemn or hate a brother for whom I pray, no matter how much trouble he causes me. His face, that hitherto may have been strange and intolerable to me, is transformed in intercession into the countenance of a brother for whom Christ died, the face of a forgiven sinner.”

Here at Park Street Church, we agree with Bonhoeffer that vibrant fellowship among believers is essential for maintaining our Christ-centered focus and mission in the world. Thus the Apostle Paul admonished first-century Christians in the bustling port city of Thessalonica (not so different from modern Boston!) to “encourage one another and build each other up” in the Lord (1 Thessalonians 5:11).

Small group Bible studies are at the heart of our church community, and we warmly invite you to participate in one of them! We have fellowships geared towards a variety of different affinity groups, including families, women, men, young adults, couples, working professionals, individuals with a heart for reaching out to Boston’s homeless population, even photographers! Whatever your background or current stage of life, a small group community awaits you here: come make Park Street Church your spiritual home.
