my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy,
and with my song I praise him.
Leader: The LORD is the strength of his people,
a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.
People: Save your people and bless your inheritance;
be their shepherd and carry them forever.

* HYMN No. 343 Christ is Made the Sure Foundation

* INVOCATION, CONFESSION, & LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father who art in heaven; Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our coming day’s bread;
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors;
And lead us not into trial, but deliver us from the Evil One.
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

The King of Love My Shepherd Is
Words: Henry W. Baker (1821-1877)
Music: Ancient Irish Melody arr. Dan Forrest (b. 1978)
Jenn Schmunk, soprano

The King of love my shepherd is,
Whose goodness faileth never,
I nothing lack, if I am his
And he is mine forever.

Where streams of living water flow,
My ransomed soul he leadeth,
And where the verdant pastures grow,
With food celestial feedeth.

Perverse and foolish oft I strayed,
But yet in love he sought me,
And on his shoulder gently laid,
And home, rejoicing brought me.

And so through all the length of days
Thy goodness faileth never;
Good Shepherd may I sing thy praise
Within thy house forever.
