PRELUDE

INTROIT
God So Loved the World
Words: John 3:16–17
Music: John Goss (1800–1880)

God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten son,
that whosoever believeth in him
should not perish, but have everlasting life.

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world;
But that the world through him might be saved.

Amen.

* CALL TO WORSHIP from Psalm 73
Linda Herman, Elder

Leader: Truly, God is loving to Israel, even to those who have a clean heart.

People: Though my flesh and my heart fail me, God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

Leader: For behold, those who forsake you shall perish.

People: But it is good for me to hold fast to God, and to speak of all your works in the gates of the city of Zion.

* HYMN No. 261 What Wondrous Love Is This

* INVOCATION, CONFESSION, & LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father who art in heaven; Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our coming day’s bread;
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors;
And lead us not into trial, but deliver us from the Evil One.
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
