Worship Service COVID Guidelines

In light of the increasing cases of the COVID-19 Delta variant and with concern that children under 12 cannot be vaccinated, the Board of Elders voted to require masks at the 8:30 AM service beginning last week. This week, Mayor Janey is implementing a new indoor mask mandate for the City of Boston. However, houses of worship are exempt from the mandate in Boston. Given the change made last week, we will continue with our current protocols (explained below) for this SUN, AUG 29. As elder discussions continue, we will keep you up-to-date.

In-Person Worship Guidelines
8:30 AM–Masking required for all attendees.
11:00 AM & 4:00 PM–Masking is not required, though attendees are very welcome to wear masks. Masking is strongly advised for all who are unvaccinated during the services and while in the building.
Balcony Seating–Reserved at all three worship services for socially distanced seating and for those wearing masks.
Fellowship Hall– Streaming of the 11:00 AM & 4:00 PM services is provided. Attendees will observe masking, social distancing and no singing.

To see a fuller explanation of our COVID-19 guidelines, please visit our webpage at www.parkstreet.org/updates.

Help Us Welcome College Students This Month!

We anticipate that in the next four weeks many new students will visit our church. Would you please look out for them and extend a warm welcome? At the end of each service please take a moment to introduce yourself and get to know anyone near you who looks like a student. Look for a group of young people in the right front of the sanctuary and consider walking the student over to us so other college students and volunteers can also meet them.

If you want to serve students in any way beyond this month, we have a group of 35 Park Streeters in a College Leadership Community. Contact Tammy McLeod, Director of College Student Ministries, if you are interested in joining this community.

India COVID Relief Fund Update

As of AUG 18, total contributions to the India COVID Relief Fund were $67,188.25. We thank God for Park Street Church and their incredible faithfulness and generosity in support of our response to the COVID-19 crisis in India.

This effort had two major initiatives: first–to set up a temporary COVID response center, Rapha Care Center, with oxygen to cater to the needs of COVID-impacted patients with elevated symptoms; and second–to provide financial support to local pastors and missionaries who have been impacted by COVID and had limited means to avail themselves of necessary tests and medical treatment.

After a series of delays due to COVID-related setbacks, the center is finally open and is working with a coalition of over 700 churches to route patients to this center. We have also been able to provide financial support to 20 pastors and missionaries who were impacted by COVID. In the coming weeks we expect to double the number of pastors who will receive support.

Bell Returns to Park Street's Steeple

After being removed for restoration, Park Street’s 200-year-old bell was returned to its belfry on SAT, AUG 21, thanks to the generous donation of a Park Street Church neighbor. Now the chimes of a real bell will replace the recording that’s been playing at Park Street for more than sixty years.  Learn more by reading the Boston Globe’s article below.
