Global Missions Conference | FRI, NOV 5–SUN, NOV 14

We invite you to participate in our upcoming Global Missions Conference focused on “Jesus in Global Cities.” This year’s conference will be a hybrid of both in-person and virtual events. As with last year’s conference, you will have the opportunity to learn from and interact with all our missionaries around the world virtually. In addition, we will also be returning to the in-person events and activities you know and love. Our guest speaker this year is Chris Clayman, Co-Founder and an Associate Director of Global Gates, a mission organization focused on reaching the ends of the earth through global gateway cities.

Registration for the Global Missions Conference opens SAT, OCT 16. Please visit www.parkstreet.org/global-missions to register.

Experiencing Forgiveness - Registration Now Open for New Christian Education Class| SUN, OCT 17, 24, 31 | 9:50 am & 5:30 pm

Led by Rev. Michael J. Balboni, Ph.D.

This three-week seminar, beginning on SUN, OCT 17, discusses what forgiveness means, and how we can offer it to those who transgress us.  The seminar will engage questions such as: What is the nature of forgiveness?  Must I forgive someone who does not ask for forgiveness?  What is the relationship of forgiveness and justice?

The seminar will also provide practical strategies toward experiencing emotional release from anger, hurt, and frustration through exercises that overcome victimization narratives, deepening of empathy, developing a humble altruism, and maintaining a heart of forgiveness even in fractured relationships. This seminar is based on the psychoeducational REACH intervention of Dr. Everett Worthington, a Christian and the leading psychology researcher in the field of forgiveness.

This course is available at 9:50 AM and 5:30 PM on Sundays, OCT 17, 24, and 31.

This class will have both in-person and virtual options. Please register below.

Ezekiel: Prophet in Exile (Season Two) - Registration Now Open for Christian Education Class |Sundays | 9:50 am

Led by Drs. Elaine and Perry Phillips, this course begins SUN, OCT 17 and will continue on Sundays until March.

In our first year of studying Ezekiel (chapters 1-18), we encountered intertwining theological emphases: the glory of God; the idolatry of God’s rebellious people; the judgment of exile and promise of return. These themes continue through ch. 24 and will be our initial focus in the fall. The Lord’s Word through Ezekiel transcends temporal and spatial boundaries; we have sobering lessons to learn.

This is an in-depth scriptural exploration of the writings of the prophet Ezekiel. The class is lead by Elaine Phillips and her husband, Perry. Elaine served as a Professor of Old Testament at Gordon College.

New students are welcome. Virtual and in-person options are available.

English Language Partners Needed

Park Street’s English as a Second Language (ESL) program needs more volunteers for the Language Partners program. The Language Partners program developed during the pandemic and has become hugely popular among our students. Students meet on-to-one with a native English speaker, either virtually or in person, for conversation. The commitment is one hour per week. The day and time are chosen by you and the student.

Contact our ESL Coordinator, Karen Patschke at [email protected] for more information and to volunteer.
