Where do you look to find spiritual refreshment today? Join us for an informal, interactive, 3-week exploration of some untapped roots from Asian believers in the early church, after each service. We’ll dig into how Asian Christians viewed prayer, the word and mission, consider implications for our lives in Boston, and hopefully refresh our vision for the church’s engagement today in society. Registration is not required.

New Testament Palestinian Names: Christian Formation Class

SUN, FEB 19 | after all services | Welcome Center

Data Science Perspective on New Testament Palestinian Names – New Affirmation, New Insights

A database of several thousand names of Palestinian Jewish men and women around the time of Jesus was recently published, allowing New Testament scholars to compare New Testament data against this database. Their findings affirm the historical accuracy of the Gospels and Acts, statistically speaking. Such study of names also enable us to know more about some New Testament characters including Cleopas, Joanna, Paul, Thomas, Jesus’ family, and others. Dr. David Tam will be presenting a lecture on this new affirmation and insight SUN, FEB 19, after all three services. Dr. Tam, a former Gordon College Bible professor, studied New Testament and Judaism at Duke University after receiving the M. Div. degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

Membership Reaffirmation

Membership reaffirmation, intended to be completed annually, is important because it serves as a meaningful reminder of the commitments we have made to one another before the Lord, and because it helps us—amid the dynamic and ever-changing context of Boston—to keep our membership roll up to date. Knowing who are active members is critical for understanding our shepherding needs and relevant for decision-making in many areas. We are asking all members to reaffirm or update their membership status this month via the survey linked below.

Members were sent a letter from Mark Booker about reaffirmation via email earlier today. If you are a member and didn’t receive that email, you can read Mark’s letter here

Members can fill out the survey here.

Details about these and other events can be found on the events page!
