Julian L | Psalm 81 | Psalms of Jesus | What is an authentic community? How do you belong to or contribute to an authentic Christian community? Psalm 81 tells us we need to separate ourselves from our 'false' self, a deformed, projected image we communicate to others, and to develop our 'true' self based on the inner life of the Spirit re-shaping our souls. An authentic community needs both praise and silence, shouting and listening, singing and hearing, otherwise it is merely replicating the false-self of individuals writ large.
